LATVIAN SIGHTHOUND CLUB
About us
The Latvian Sighthound Club is a member of the Latvian Cynological Federation (LCF). Since 1996, the Latvian Cynological Federation has been working as part of the International Cynological Federation (FCI), with full member rights since 2005, and is also a partner of the American Kennel Club (AKC). LCF is the only organisation that represents FCI (Fédération Cynologique Internationale), the world's largest organisation of dog breeders, in Latvia. Pedigrees issued by LCF are recognised in more than 85 countries around the world.
The beginnings of our club can be traced back to 1978, when the first registered breeds were the Russian Sighthound and the Afghan Hound. Currently, it is reported that almost all of the FCI X group sighthound breeds are represented, and members include not only residents of Latvia but also citizens of other European countries. The dogs of our members compete with great success both in European dog shows and in coursing competitions, but the most important thing is that they are members of the family and loved pets to their people.
